Hello! My name is Jamie and I am the owner and creator of Hospice Buddy!

Welcome to Hospice Buddy, where caring for your loved one at the end of life becomes a journey of compassion, support, and understanding. As your trusted companion on this emotional path, Hospice Buddy offers a unique blend of expertise and empathy to guide you through every step of the journey.

As a seasoned hospice nurse with 16 years of experience, I founded Hospice Buddy with one goal in mind: to provide caregivers like you with the personalized support and resources you need to navigate this challenging time with confidence and peace of mind.

What sets Hospice Buddy apart is my unwavering commitment to being there for you, day in and day out. While traditional hospice services offer invaluable support, we recognize the gaps that caregivers often face between scheduled visits. That’s why I offer daily, one-on-one support tailored to your specific needs and concerns.

Whether you’re struggling with symptom management, overwhelmed by the emotional toll of caregiving, or simply need someone to talk to who truly understands, Hospice Buddy is here for you. Through text communication, video calls, or phone conversations, I provide a lifeline of support, guidance, and reassurance whenever you need it most.

With Hospice Buddy by your side, you can find comfort in knowing that you’re never alone on this journey. Together, we’ll navigate the complexities of end-of-life care with compassion, understanding, and unwavering support.

My Background

I began my hospice career as a nursing assistant in an inpatient hospice facility in 2005. I loved the work and care provided in that setting. The compassion, trust, teamwork, and patient care far exceeded anything I had ever experienced before. The nurses were so well rounded and knowledgeable, kind, compassionate, and hard working, I knew I wanted to be just like them! So I went on to nursing school and obtained my LPN license in 2007 and then my RN license in 2008.

Over the past 18 years, I have focused primarily on Hospice, Palliative Care, and Oncology in a variety of settings including patient’s homes, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient hospice facilities, inpatient oncology, and outpatient oncology clinics. Most recently, I have been an after-hours, on-call, triage charge nurse providing end of life education, support, and resources to patients, families, and staff over the phone, working with facilities and other departments to coordinate care, and dispatching nurses to physical visits.

I’ve always loved taking care of the acutely ill, learning about end-of-life, and providing compassionate, personal, and quality care. I am committed to assisting patients and families to understand, cope with, and manage the changes and challenges that take place at end-of-life to promote the best quality of life during one of the most difficult times of their lives.
